The Megapath

ATLANTA – November 18, 2008 – Contour Networks, a leading provider of secure wireless connectivity over a private cellular network, announced an agreement with MegaPath, Inc., the leading provider of managed IP data, voice and security services in North America to deliver wireless connectivity throughout the United States. Contour Networks is now a key supplier of the underlying wireless infrastructure for the MegaPath Wireless Broadband connectivity service, which supplements MegaPath’s comprehensive terrestrial footprint to deliver virtually 100 percent nationwide coverage.

MegaPath Wireless Broadband allows customers to provide all their distributed locations with secure Internet access and data communications from a single vendor. The service delivers wireless back-up capabilities in the event of a network outage, as well as a Quick Start option that enables customers to leverage the wireless network, while awaiting their physical broadband network to be provisioned.

MegaPath required the ability to provide secure, cost-effective wireless connectivity as a complement to its existing services and maintain industry leadership. “Contour Networks ability to provide a private and secure wireless network at a competitive price allows MegaPath to accelerate our wireless rollout while maximizing customer value,” said Beth Tyebjee, Senior Vice President, Marketing at MegaPath. “Contour Networks’ wireless service allows us to connect to locations that are unreachable or too expensive to support using traditional high-speed offerings.”

Managed IP communications is an industry segment of significant value to Contour Networks. “The partnership with MegaPath fits extremely well into our business model by combining the private and secure network with customized pricing and billing solutions. We believe the partnership will provide the ability to expand beyond our traditional installed base to include other opportunities in which we can eliminate the need for managing VPNs and improving our customers’ operational efficiencies,” said Robert Guglielmi, Contour Networks Chief Marketing Officer.
